Daisy Park will operate solely as a childcare centre from July 2022, catering for children from 6months to 3 years of age. We take this opportunity to inform you of our fresh, innovative ideas and routines, that shall be implemented on the 4th July 2022.
A designated area within Daisy Park will cater solely for babies from 6 months of age to approximately 1 year of age. This will include a feeding and cosy sleeping area as well as a spacious, padded soft-play room which will include age-appropriate toys. Needless to say, children within this age group will enjoy the outdoor space during their designated time slot.
The programme for children aged between 1 and 3 years will be based on a rotation system. We have decided to move away from the traditional classroom concept and allocate each room to a specific activity or purpose. We believe this will keep the children more engaged and stimulated throughout the day and ensure a uniform experience for all children at Daisy Park.
Each carer will be assigned a group of children (grouped according to age) and each group will move through the daily activities together. Therefore, the assigned carer and peers in a given group will be each child’s constant.
One room will be solely dedicated to crafts, another to sensory activities, one to free play/role play and storytelling, another to lunch break and cooking activities, the hall will remain dedicated to music and yoga and a big emphasis will continue on outdoor activities which will include P.E., mud play in the mud kitchen, planting and watering in the vegetable patch and around the citrus trees, picnics, adventures in the playhouse, water play (during the summer months) and more.
Each group of children will rotate across all activities assigned for the day with their carer, as part of their daily routine. We have assigned an activities coordinator who will ensure that the weekly programme is structured and varied and centred around the weekly/monthly theme in place, while aimed at achieving development milestones.
